Iceland took over the presidency from Finland in 2007. Now at New Year the 3-year presidency period is over and it is time to pass the torch to Norway. Those years in NES Board has been a rewarding time with inspiring and demanding tasks. I just want to mention few things. We organized IEA Council meeting in Iceland in 2008, which in my opinion, has strengthened our relation to the ergonomics world both in and outside Europe. We have just opened a new website which hopefully will be appreciated by our members. The third thing I would like to mention is that NES has been working on a new strategic plan until 2012, which hopefully will be accessible on the website in the first part of next year. The purpose of the strategic plan is to ensure that NES will fulfill its goals as well as possible.
On behalf of the Icelandic Ergonomics Association, Vinnís, I would like to wish the new presidency in Norway with Kai Olsen as a president and Anne Bolstad as secretary, both from NEHF, good luck in their new tasks. At the same time I would like to express my thanks to Svava Jónsdóttir, who has been serving as a secretary during the Icelandic presidency, and to Fredrik Rassner, treasurer, Sweden, and to all friends in NES Board for a delightful time and cooperation.
Þórunn Sveinsdóttir, President of NES
